About Membership

Membership of The Caledonian Club brings with it many benefits. The Caledonian Club is considered to be one of the friendliest clubs in the Capital, a home from home, providing comfort, fraternity and a familiar place to relax and unwind. Our Club proudly retains the original ethos and etiquette of a traditional private Members’ club.

The beautiful dining room with its excellent wine list, bedrooms and exceptional private dining and meeting rooms are available to Members at prices well below those of the equivalent commercial sector.

Reciprocal arrangements exist with clubs in Scotland and London, but the network extends worldwide meaning Members can enjoy visiting and staying at some of the most prestigious and exclusive clubs around the globe.

Club Events

Reputation for good fellowship and the spirit of friendship amongst Members is fostered by the chance to participate in an extensive calendar of social events. All who visit the Club receive a warm welcome, embracing not just Scots, but everyone who enjoys an empathy with Scotland and all things Scottish.

Application Process

Introduction by an existing Member is the most usual route to membership, however, it is not the only one. We welcome applications from all Scots or those having a close association or empathy with Scotland.

Applications are reviewed by the Membership Committee. Applicants should have a Proposer and Seconder. Where there is no Proposer and Seconder, or a Proposer only, applicants will be invited to meet the Committee.

The Club holds Open Evenings several times a year in order to give membership candidates an opportunity to view the Club’s facilities, and meet Members and Committee Members.
